  Laughin Garlic Farms is a family farm, owned and operated by George & Steve Schaefer along with their families. The farm has been in our family for 130 years. We are located 20 minutes south of Iowa City, Iowa. We have traditionally raised grain and livestock and this year we added garlic to our farm. The garlic is being grown on land that has never had garlic on it before. This should help us raise garlic that is free of the diseases associated with garlic.
We want you, our customers, to be directly connected to our farm. Many companies sell garlic that has been raised by other farmers. We raise and process all the garlic here on our farm. Our families have been active in the planting, harvesting and curing of the garlic. Each bulb of garlic is inspected by us to insure that we provide quality garlic to you.
We raise organic crops on a large portion of our farm and are certified organic by the state of Iowa. All of our garlic is organic. This means there are no pesticides or herbicides used in the production of the garlic. Healthy soil makes healthy food for healthy living. |
